- What is coaching? Coaching offers clients a way to discover what they want in life and how they might achieve it within a confidential, motivating and supportive environment. Coaches help their clients by giving each individual the personal space and encouragement they need to grow and develop.
The key role of the coach is to strengthen and support the client’s motivation and commitment to achieving their goals.
A coach aims to help and support others to create, achieve and go beyond goals in their personal and professional life – be it excelling at work, achieving ambitions, becoming happy and fulfilled in the home, and exploring the self and the world.
Coaches help clients to push beyond emotional barriers and give them the tools to confidently face difficult situations by using techniques based on core psychological principles and natural intuition.
The aim is for people from all professional and personal backgrounds to eventually view life from a different perspective, having helped improve their strengths and build upon their weaknesses to make the most of their lives – just as sport coaches hone athletes to become leading competitors in their disciplines.
A coach does not give advice. The main reason being, giving advice is a way of pushing a personal view onto another person –who may or may not share the same view. Coaching is about being objective, structured and empowered, not giving instruction. The goal is for the client to discover the power and ability to help his or her self.
Therefore, a coach is an individual who guides another person from where they are in life to where they want to be. - What can I help you with? I can help you get motivated, focused and able to find your way in your life again.
Whether it’s going back to work, commencing study, stepping out of your comfort zone, achieving work/home balance, improving your diet and fitness, becoming assertive in different areas like at work, with your children or partner or achieving the things you always wanted.
Anything and everything is possible.
It’s easy to let the demands and expectations of modern life get on top of you but by being proactive, you can learn how to cope more effectively through self awareness and by learning various techniques.
By using questions and exercises I will try to understand your view of the world and together with you, work out the best way forward.
I have many years experience working with people from all walks of life and I view each client as a unique individual. I know that each person has their own story and reasons for wanting a helping hand and I work with them accordingly.
The work I do is very exciting and to see a client develop and gain self awareness and to support a client towards change is a rewarding experience.
